Quarter Note Off Beat Grooves - Lesson 7
|
In this drum lesson we are playing quarter note grooves playing the hi hats with the shoulder of the drum stick.
The snare drum is played on beats 2+4 and the bass drum is played on various sixteenth notes in the bar. If the bass drum falls on an eighth note it will either be in unison with the hi hat or half way between hi hats but if the bass drum is played on an off beat sixteenth note it will fall 25% to the left or the right of a hi hat.
We should count sixteenth notes to help with the accurate placement of the bass drum.
