In this drum lesson we are looking at groupings of three played through sixteenth notes. Playing a drum groove and then a drum fill - always keeping the hi hat on the quarter note and after playing between snare drum and bass drum we need to improvise around the drum kit.
Playing groups of three notes through sixteenth notes means we will play the notes five times which will equal fifteen sixteenth notes - so all we have to do is add one more note at the end to complete the bar - each phrase would resolve after three beats or three bars.
