Basic Eighth Note Grooves - Lesson 1

In this drum lesson we are playing a basic groove in 4/4 time. Keeping an even 8th note, or quaver, hi hat pattern and playing an alternating snare drum and bass drum in unison with the hi hats on the quarter note in the first exercise. The bass drum is then played at different eighth note points in the other exercises.
The snare drum should be accented using a combination of arm,wrist and fingers to obtain the power to play the snare as a loud backbeat.
